Is Your 360 Project Working?

Check out your 360° Project

You may not know the psychometric qualities of your 360°, although your supplier should have told you. So how can you tell if you're getting value from your investment? Here are ten warning signs which can indicate that your 360° is not working as well as it could be:

• Key people are questioning whether you should do 360° again this year.
• Rate of non-compliance in completing the 360° reviews is high.
  (E.g. >10%)
• Behavioural change is not evident in those who "need" it most.
• The distribution of ratings is poor. (E.g. Items have a standard deviation of less than 0.6 on a 5-point scale.)
• Your 360° reports look tired, unclear or cluttered
• Your competencies are not sufficiently differentiated.
  (E.g. Factor analysis shows the first factor accounting for >50% of variance.)
• Your current competency model and/or company values are not evident.
• Your 360° results are out of line with other measures.
  (E.g. performance manager/ development centre/ selection assessments)
• People don't show much interest or engagement with their 360° data.
• Your 360° data is sometimes difficult to interpret - people ask "what does this mean then?"
